Zbohom Európa - Vitajte v Afrike
Tretí deň bol dosťnáročný a museli sme sami tlačiť na časový limit. Po 70 hodinovej non-stop jazde do Cape Agulhas vieme, čo je to jazdecký maratón. Ale okrem bežných vecí, ktoré musíme stíhať robiť počas j...azdy, musíme si vyčleniť aj čas na spánok a popritom aj šoférovať, aby sme stihli všetko pripraviť na krátky zajtrajší let.
O 9 hodine sme dorazili na letisko v juhovýchodnom Turecku. Vďaka tomu, že podporný tím Kühne + Nagel odviedol perfektnú prácu pri pasovej a colnej kontrole, ako aj na dráhe, bolo možné vzlietnuť skôr. Vzhľadom k rýchlemu postupu, sme nemohli mať oči všade a čo sa nám vypomstilo neskôr, a následne sme ta pre tieto veci stratili drahocenný čas neskôr.
Dámy na colnej kontroly kontrolovali náš kufor auta veľmi podrobne a keď sme prechádzali bezpečnostnou kontrolou, zle zabalili naše veci a kus oblečenia uviazol vnútri zámku piatych dverí, takže sme ich viac nemohli otvoriť.
Nebol čas na dohadovanie sa a tak sme rýchlo naložili Touareg do Antonova 74 so šesťčlennou posádkou z Ukrajiny. Nemali sme moc času na spánok, pretože Matthias a palubný mechanik sa pokúsili otvoriť dvere batožinového priestoru zospodu auta, ale to bola len jedna z možností. Musela byť demontovaná bezpečnostná klietka auta, no a bolo treba vyriešiť aj tento problém, ak budú aj colné kontroly v Egypte chcieť vidieť zasa všetko.
Tesne po dvadsiatej tretej hodine sme boli vo vzduchu, a chcem poďakovať Kühne + Nagel, ako aj všetkým ostatným, ktorí podali pomocnú ruku a pomohli nám v Turecku.
Takmer po dvoch hodinách letu sme pristáli v Mersa Matruh v Egypte. A potom to prišlo, čo sme aj očakávali a tak tím Capetocape pracoval 30 minút pod prísnym dohľadom egyptských colníkov. S úspechom - problém bol vyriešený a náš vstup bol povolený.

At 9 p.m. we arrived at the airport in Southeastern Turkey. SInce the support team of Kühne+Nagel did a perfect job at the passport and customs control as well as on the runway, it was possible to take off earlier. Due to the quick procedure, we could not have an eye on everything and soon a little accident had happened, which took us precious time later on.
The ladies at the customs control checked our car trunk accurately and while we were at the security checkpoint, they packed our stuff a little in-artfully, so a piece of clothing got stuck inside the lock of the tailgate, so we could not open it anymore.
There was no time for deliberations so we drove the Touareg into the Antonov 74 and the six-member crew from the Ukraine took over. There was not much time for sleep, as Matthias and the mechanic of the on-board crew tried to open the tailgate from beneath the car, but they did only find one possibility. A part of the rollover cage had to be dismantled to solve the problem, as also the customs control in Egypt would want to see everything.
Just after 11 p.m. we were up in the air and want to thank Kühne+Nagel as well as all other helping hands for supporting us in Turkey.
Nearly 2 hours later, we landed in Mersa Matruh in Egypt. And it came as it was bound to happen: the Capetocape team worked 30 minutes under the watchful eyes of the Egyptian customs. With success - the problem was solved and our entry was permitted. Welcome to Africa!
